Outside my window...it's dark. I'm cold.
I am thinking... geez I'm cold.
I am hearing... the heater kicking on.
I am thankful for... heated mattress pads. Our bed will be cozy warm tonight when I crawl in.
I am wearing... black pants, medium blue tee, flip flops (probably why I'm cold) and I just went to get a sweatshirt.
I am remembering... that I'll need to have Valentine's gifts ready to take with us this weekend.
I am going... to San Francisco with Surferman and Grom this weekend. We are saving "the good stuff" for a future trip with friends, but I'm sure we'll find more good stuff to do. It will be nice to get away from normal.
I am reading... the same books as last week.
I am hoping... to get going on my quilt.
On my mind... all the things I need to do. Where does my time go?
From the learning rooms... Grom and Grandma made his valentines for school. We have a book bag full of random books this week to read together. We are still reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It's S week.
Vocabulary word of the week...
Vocabulary word of the week...
Banal (Adjective)
Meaning: Boring; common; ordinary; dull Sounds Like: Ban_Al Imagine This: NBC station manager banned Al’s television shows from prime time TV because it was extremely boring. Other Forms: Banality (noun)
Noticing that... it's too cold to be wearing flip flops yet.
Pondering these words...
"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"
- Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)
From the kitchen... lots of goodies. Tonight Surferman and I made a couple of Peanut Butter Cup Pies and a batch of Peanut Butter Oatmeal cookies. Both are for events, with a little left behind for my guys. I'll post the Peanut Butter Cup Pie recipe later this week. It's really good and really easy.
Around the house... My sister and her husband and the girlies are almost ready to move into their new home. The finishing touches are happening. It's bittersweet.
One of my favorite things... cheek kisses from my sweet boy.
A picture to share...This is a block I made for a friend's Christmas Quilt years ago. She still had her quilt out when we visited her home recently so we could see it. Can you figure it out? How 'bout a Partridge in a Pear Tree?

If my feet are cold, I am miserable...you're right, it is much too early for flip flops...although there are a lot of people from Hawaii who live around me and they wear flip flops all year long...it could just be me...and you. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting the Santos Times, I enjoyed your daybook.
Mrs. Santos
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog, I enjoyed my visit to yours too! I love the quilt and Peanut butter pie has to be a favorite around here. I haven't ever tried making it but there is a little place we like to make it to about once a year that has the best!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your week!
Blessings,
