Yada Yada Gifts

It's good to be digiscrapping again.

I've been playing with Apple's Pages and also learning more about Photoshop and Illustrator. I know that Photoshop and Illustrator have a lot going for them, but Pages... wow is it simple. Both of the projects below were done with Pages and free digiscrapping papers and fonts I've found around the web.

If you've read any of the Yada Yada Prayer group books you'll immediatedly recognize this idea for birthday gifts.

First for spunky Katie's birthday...
Katie means "pure". I found a great verse, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Mathhew 5:8. The image size is 2"x3".

Next for dear Stacey's birthday...
Stacey means "resurrection". For her, the dictionary definitions seemed appopriate. If I had looked at an actual dictionary, I think a picture of her would be there. The image size is 4"x6"

These are fun little projects. I'm collecting frames and hope to continue the idea for many friends.

If you'd like more info or credits on digiscrapping elements that I used or fonts. Please leave a comment.

Scripture Scrappin'

Finally found some time to do a little digiscrapping. These are very simple - nothing fancy.

I'm going through Loving God with All Your Mind by Elizabeth George with a gal from church. I started writing down the scriptures that we were looking up. I plan to have them printed and give them to her as a gift when we finish the book. The layouts are 4x6.

I'm using a kit by Heather Roselli called Play.

Watch for more.

Scripture Circle Journal

I've been working on a scripture circle journal project. Other scrappers are working on their own layouts and when we're all done, I'll get a copy of everyones layouts. They are 4" by 6". Printing won't be too expensive and it'll make a frugal gift or two.

Psalm 139:17-18a (The Message)

Journalling:
Your thoughts--how rare, how beautiful!
God, I'll never comprehend them!
I couldn't even begin to count them--
any more than I could count the sand of the sea.
Psalm 139:17-18 (Message)

This one is Philippians 4:8. The basic text is from The Message although I tweaked it a bit.

Journalling: you'll do best by filling your mind and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best; the beautiful; things to praise Philippians 4:8 (The Message)

My (almost) First Digiscrapping Project!

I recently found out about digital scrapbooking. I'm giving it a try. I bought Photoshop Elements at Costco and now I'm trying to learn it.

I found a couple of great websites, The Digichick and scrapbook-bytes.com that both have great instruction and inspiration.

The picture above isn't my "first" attempt. I have a few pages I played with that are going to be a part of a surprise for someone who could happen upon my blog. This is the cover of the "Life is Better Shared" workshop that I'm trying at The Digichick. I figured I'd get my feet wet and have an interesting project too. The elements are part of a free kit from Debbie Fisher called Soovees New Black.
