Daybook January 11, 2010

FOR TODAY... Monday January 11, 2010

Outside my window... it's dark now, but we've been having some amazing sunsets. Tonight it was silver, baby blue and baby pink.

I am thinking... that I should clear off my table instead of going to bed early. Who am I kidding? I won't go to bed early and I probably won't clear off my table either.

I am hearing... random noise.

I am thankful for... the start of Marvelous Mondays. My Fabulous Fun Friday Friend and I have figured out how to get our boys into the same gymnastics class again. I'm so glad to have time with Stacey again.

I am wearing... jeans, red long sleeved t-shirt, black chucks and earrings I made.

I am remembering... that I haven't looked at my to do list at all today. yikes! I was too busy.

I am going... to have to plan time to exercise with the Wii. Left to my own, I'm "too busy" to get to it.

I am reading... The Christmas Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverni and another book by Kevin Leman. I'm also listening to Dark Tort by Diane Mott Davidson when I'm alone in my car.

I am hoping... for a great getaway. Surferman and I are taking a night away from home next week. We hope to finish our family mission statement and just enjoy each other.

On my mind... vacations. We are planning some trips for the summer - both family reunions, and maybe a couple of weekends away this winter / early spring. So far a long weekend in San Francisco is for sure.

From the learning rooms... It's "O" week... and we have some great books about cookies from the library.

Noticing that... sharing toothpaste with a 5 year old should be avoided. yuck.

Pondering these words...
"No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God." - 1 Samuel 2:2 (NKJV)
From the kitchen... Grom and I made breakfast cookies yesterday. They are healthy enough and he eats them.

Around the house... new sliding glass doors. Our old doors were impossible to open and they didn't lock. The new ones are beautiful and slide like butter on a hot pancake.

One of my favorite things... writing with Sharpie markers. Love those bold strokes. The only bummer is the way they bleed through paper.

A picture to share... I think it's Grom. We had a little more fun than we should have at Walmart last Saturday. He had to have those shades. He spent his own money.

and will encourage and bless everyone in some way.
We can identify with the disciples. At times, we have
a tendency to focus on the things that are going on around us instead of the One that is in control of all things. When that happens, reality may seem overwhelming, and the problems appear unsolvable. However, we must realize to be fearful
is to lack faith in God and in His provision for us. True faith focuses on God, not on the things that are happening.
    Psalm 139:11-12
If I say, surely the darkness shall fall on me,
Even the night shall be light about me.
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide
from You, but the night shines as the day,
the darkness and the light are both
    a like to You.
