Random Dozen - 1/20/10

1. So I was thinking about how Jon Bon Jovi never seems to age much. His hair is smaller nowadays, but he still manages to look like a boy somehow. And then that made me think of the story of Dorian Gray. Question: If you physically lock in one age for yourself, which would you choose and why?
Well... I guess I need to read Dorian Gray. Physically? I'm not sure there is an age that I'd lock in. Maybe when I was 13 turning 14. My hair had great wings. I was still naturally blonde. I had cute clothes. I was preppy. My socks always matched my shirt.

2. What is the best dish that you cook or bake (your piece de resistance?)

3. When you feel blue, what is one strategy you use to help yourself back to normal?
Count my blessings and don't dwell on the negative.

4. When was the last time you danced in public?
I danced (Wii Just Dance) with some friends at a friend's house. Not really public, but I'm like WAY older than any of those girls and should deserve some props.

5. Do you consider yourself a realist or dreamer?
I'm a realist.

6. As a parent, what is one thing that you have done well?
Instilled a love of books and "real" things. Grom would rather watch a show like "How It's Made" than a cartoon.

7. Which is your favorite character on the Andy Griffith show?
Aunt Bea, I guess. Can't say I'm a huge Andy Griffith fan.

8. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you know about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?
2. On Monday I was talking to someone about Martin Luther King, we kinda challenged each other to find his "I have a dream" speech online and watch the whole thing. I haven't done it... yet. Maybe I'll add it to my new 101 things to do list.

9. Have you never been mellow? Have you never tried … to find a comfort from in side you? (Sorry, Jorge was singing that song just now, and it just seemed to be perfect timing as I was creating this week’s questions.) REAL question: What is your #1 driving pet peeve?
People who take pictures while they are driving. Seriously, it would be people who pull onto the highway and can't get up to speed before I almost plow into them.

10. Which color best represents your mood today? Care to elaborate?
Beige with a splash of red. It was a stormy day that was a little busy. Nothing excited happened but there was some urgency to get some things done.

11. If your spouse were an animal, which would he/she be?
Probably a big golden lab. Loyal and loves the water.

12. What activity takes up the bulk of your time on an average day?
Sleeping. That probably doesn't count though... I'd have to say I spend the bulk of my time each day on my computer.
