Here's what works for me this week. For more WFM tips tumble on over to Rocks in My Dryer.
Meals have become a bit of a battle. Grom wants to express his independence and I want him to eat a balanced and healthy meal. Solution? The BAG of GOOD FOOD!
Grom and I pack a bag of different foods for him. He can choose whatever he wants to eat out of the bag. Everything is mom approved - string cheese, cereal, raisins, tangerines, crackers, carrots, yogurt, leftover bits of this and that... you get the idea.
When our family meals are little sophisticated for Grom's toddler tastes, out comes the BAG of GOOD FOOD!
When we're on the run and nap runs into lunchtime, out comes the BAG of GOOD FOOD!
When he's hanging out with me at work, out comes the BAG of GOOD FOOD!
And if you can imagine a 2 1/2 year old asking for his BAG of GOOD FOOD!
Works for me.
I love that idea! I wonder if my 3.5 year old would go for it.
ReplyDeleteI've done this for my daughter for her snack time for quite some time. I require her to eat whatever is presented at the dinner table though. I like that you have a cute name for it!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteFun idea. That's so creative! My toddler has recently started to get a little pickier. We'll give this a try! :)
ReplyDeleteI sure wish I'd heard this idea many years ago, when mine were little! It's absolutely brilliant! Not only are you making sure he gets good food, but you're giving him a chance to show his own independence in making choices. Little kids love that. It makes them feel so 'grown up'!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great idea. Kids love to carry things around. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGood idea. I may have to try that.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try this with my picky 4 year old. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea!! Thanks for sharing! =)
ReplyDeletetee hee
ReplyDeleteYet another one that we do! :) Ours is a small clear plastic box kept on the bottom of the fridge. Each child has his/her own labeled with his/her name. It's a huge lifesaver for those "Mom, can I have . . ." moments!
Love it!
