and ketchup, who never had any problem speaking up for himself and taking over, quietly assents to being second in line, breathing a sigh of relief that it wont be HIM taking all the heat this time...
alternate ending:
ketchup saw sugar across the counter each time the fridge door swung open. her lithe container with its cursive painted name mocked his 50's industrial revolution style. his perishability a contrast to her steady crystalline state. his savory to her sweet. his cooking to her baking. they all glared as obstacles with each flutter of the fridge door.
what could possibly bring him to her...
