A Fabulous Woman

My pursuit of fabulousness is on the back burner.

Today my Grandma passed from this world to the loving arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ.

She was a fabulous woman.

You know all those "pink" verses in your Bible - Pink because they are the verses about being a godly woman.  Gigi quietly lived many of these verses.

Her gentle and quiet spirit made her easy to live with.  She eased her way into our family five years ago.  She rarely complained.  If she didn't have something nice to say, she held her peace.

She frugally and diligently ran her home.  I remember spending weeks with her as a child.  We ran all over town chasing a deal.  She survived the Depression forever changed.  Her pantry was always stocked and stocked some more.

Her 5 kids, most of her 13 grandkids, and all 4 of her great grandkids (3 more on the way!) were here this weekend to see her one last time; to rise up and call her blessed.  We gathered to honor her.

There is so much more.  Memories to share.  She used to send letters with gum in them.

Saying good bye was hard - but easier knowing she is with Jesus.

  1. I'm sad to hear Gigi has left us but rejoicing that she's with our Savior. E and I were going to come by early this week to say our good-byes and we're sorry we are a day late:(

  2. Stacey said what I was thinking. I'm sorry that your family has to miss her but so happy for Gigi.

That is the kind of woman I want to be.

  3. I am so happy to know she is dancing on street made of gold praising her Lord and Savior. I know we mourn, but she is forever rejoicing!
